Summary
Much of the KC Library catalog is aligned to recognized professional certification bodies — PMI, SHRM, HRCI, and IIBA. This article explains what that accreditation means, which bodies KnowledgeCity holds standing with, and how completing accredited courses contributes toward continuing education and recertification credits.
Introduction
KC Library is KnowledgeCity's course content, and part of what makes it premium is that it carries accreditation. KnowledgeCity holds standing with several professional bodies — as a PMI Authorized Training Partner, a SHRM and HRCI Recertification Provider, and an IIBA Endorsed Education Provider — which is what allows the associated courses to count toward professional continuing education.
KnowledgeCity has also been named a Training Industry Top 20 Online Learning Library.
Because KC Library can be delivered on the KC LMS or on your own system through SCORM, xAPI, or API, accreditation travels with the course content itself rather than with any one platform. Where you see the course does not change whether it is accredited.
Key Concepts
- Accreditation: Recognition from a professional body that KnowledgeCity content meets that body's standards for continuing education.
- Certification body: The external organization that defines a credential and its continuing-education requirements. KnowledgeCity partners with each as an authorized, recertification, or endorsed education provider.
- The four bodies: Project Management Institute (PMI), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), HR Certification Institute (HRCI), and International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
- CEU / continuing education credit: The unit a certification body uses to track ongoing professional development. Completing accredited courses is what contributes toward these credits.
- Certification Programs: Curated groupings of the courses associated with a given credential, so the relevant content sits together rather than scattered across categories.
- Recertification: Maintaining a credential you already hold by earning the credits your body requires within its renewal period.
How Accreditation Works
Identify which credential you are working toward
Start from your own credential, not from the catalog. PMI, SHRM, HRCI, and IIBA each set their own rules, so which body you report to determines everything that follows.

Find the accredited courses for that credential
Accredited content is grouped into Certification Programs, which gather the courses tied to a single certification body. If you are unsure which courses apply to your credential, ask your KnowledgeCity administrator — they can confirm which of your organization's available content is accredited for that body.
Complete the courses
Work through the courses as you normally would on whichever platform your organization uses. Completion is what generates the record; simply browsing a course does not.
Report your credits to your certification body
Confirm the requirements with the body itself — how many credits you need, over what period, and how to submit them. KnowledgeCity's standing with that body is what makes the courses eligible; reporting the credits remains between you and your certification body.
Conclusion
KC Library's accreditation with PMI, SHRM, HRCI, and IIBA means the content can count toward the continuing education those bodies require. Identify your credential first, complete the accredited courses that apply to it, and check your certification body's own rules for how many credits you need and how to report them.
