Summary
The Training Dashboard in the Safety App gives you an at-a-glance view of how training is progressing across your organization. It shows overall completion rates, counts of overdue assignments, and how completion breaks down by department, along with a month-over-month trend. Use it to spot gaps in compliance and follow up before due dates slip.
Introduction
The Training Dashboard aggregates data from your organization's training assignments and presents it as a set of summary metrics. It answers the questions safety and compliance stakeholders ask most often: How much of our assigned training is actually complete? What is overdue right now? Which departments are keeping up, and which are falling behind?
Because the numbers are rolled up automatically, managers and administrators do not have to compile spreadsheets by hand. The dashboard turns raw assignment records into the completion rates, overdue counts, and trends you need to keep your workforce compliant.
Key Concepts
- Total Assignments: The full count of training assignments for your account. This is the denominator used to calculate your overall completion rate.
- Completed Count: The number of assignments whose status is completed. This drives both the overall completion figure and the per-department breakdown.
- Completion Rate: The percentage of assignments that are complete, calculated as completed assignments divided by total assignments, multiplied by 100.
- Overdue Count: The number of assignments that are not completed or cancelled, have a due date set, and whose due date has already passed.
- Completion by Department: A breakdown that groups assignments by the assigned user's department, showing total assignments, completed assignments, and a completion rate for each. Users without a department are grouped under Unassigned.
- Completion Trend: A chronological view of completed assignments per month (grouped by completion date), showing the most recent 12 months so you can see whether completion is improving over time.
Steps to Follow
Open the Training Dashboard
Sign in to the Safety App and navigate to the Training Dashboard. The dashboard loads the metrics for your account automatically, so no manual data entry is required.
Review your overall completion
Start with the top-level figures. The dashboard shows your Total Assignments and Completed Count, and derives an overall Completion Rate from them. This tells you, in a single percentage, how much of your assigned training is finished.
Check the overdue count
Look at the Overdue Count to see how many assignments have passed their due date without being completed or cancelled. Only assignments that have a due date set are counted here, so this figure reflects work that is genuinely late and needs follow-up.
Break results down by department
Use the Completion by Department view to see how each department is performing. Each department shows its total assignments, completed assignments, and its own completion rate. Anyone whose record has no department assigned appears under Unassigned, which is a useful signal that user records may need attention.
Track the completion trend
Review the Completion Trend to see completed assignments grouped by month. The dashboard displays the last 12 months in chronological order, letting you judge whether completion is trending up, holding steady, or slipping.
Act on what you find
Use the breakdown and trend together to prioritize. Departments with low completion rates or high overdue counts are the natural places to send reminders or schedule additional training, while the trend confirms whether your interventions are working over time.
Conclusion
The Training Dashboard consolidates completion rates, overdue counts, and department-level trends into one place so you can manage training compliance without manual reporting. By checking it regularly, you can catch overdue assignments early, identify departments that need support, and confirm that overall completion is moving in the right direction.
