Summary
KC Skills has no separate login. It authenticates you from the session you already have, so you reach it from your LMS or from your app launcher without entering another username and password. Where you end up depends on which part of KC Skills you are using, and what you can do there follows the access your administrator has given you.
Introduction
Rather than maintaining its own set of credentials, KC Skills relies on your existing authenticated session. The identity you already have carries over, which is why there is no KC Skills sign-in page to remember.
This applies to everyone who uses KC Skills: administrators and program owners who plan and track assessments, and learners who take them. It removes one more account to manage, and it keeps access tied to the identity your organization already controls.
Key Concepts
- Single sign-on: Being authenticated into KC Skills by the session you already hold, instead of signing in again.
- Entry point: Where you open KC Skills from. This is normally your LMS or your app launcher.
- Admin app: The part of KC Skills where administrators build assessments, run campaigns, and read results.
- My Skills: The part of your learning portal where learners see and take the assessments assigned to them.
- Access: What you are allowed to see and do inside KC Skills, set by your administrator.
Steps to Follow
Opening KC Skills
Open KC Skills from where your organization has made it available. That is usually your LMS, and in some organizations an app launcher as well.
Because your existing session authenticates you, there is nothing else to enter. If you are not signed in yet, sign in to your LMS or launcher first, then open KC Skills.
Step 1: Let your existing session authenticate you
When KC Skills opens, it confirms who you are from the session you arrived with. This happens before any content loads, so access stays tied to your existing identity rather than to separate KC Skills credentials.
Note: There is no KC Skills username or password. If you are ever asked to create one, you are not on KC Skills.
Step 2: Go to the part you need
KC Skills is not one screen that sorts people by role. It has two distinct surfaces, and you go to the one that matches what you are doing:
- Administrators work in the KC Skills admin app, which opens on the Dashboard. From there you reach the Skill Tree, Assessments, Campaigns, and Users Skill Profile.
- Learners do not need the admin app at all. Assessments assigned to you appear under My Skills in your learning portal, alongside your other learning.

Step 3: Expect your access to shape what you see
Once inside the admin app, what you can do follows the access your administrator has given you. Some people can build and edit assessments, while others can open the same screens to read results without changing anything.
If a control you expected is missing or unavailable, that is normally an access question rather than a fault. Ask whoever administers KC Skills for your organization.
Step 4: Know what happens when your session ends
Sessions do not last forever. When yours ends, KC Skills does not show its own login form, because it does not have one. It returns you to the place you came from so you can sign in again there.
If you arrived through an app launcher, re-open KC Skills from that launcher once you have signed back in. If you arrived through the LMS, sign in to the LMS again and re-open KC Skills from there.
Conclusion
KC Skills authenticates you from the session you already have, so there is no extra login to manage. Administrators open the admin app and land on the Dashboard. Learners find their assessments under My Skills in the learning portal. What each person can do inside follows the access their administrator has set. When a session ends, you are returned to the entry point you came from.
